4. Admitting My Need

Please remember to pray before reading!

Yesterday we learned how very much we need God, personally and individually. Because of sin, we are naturally rebellious. So we need God to work a miracle in our lives, and give us a new heart.

Colossians 2:3 Christ is the Source of all wisdom and knowledge.

Job 14:4 We have no power to change ourselves, and make ourselves spiritually clean.

Romans 8:7 We are naturally rebellious against God and His law.

John 3:3-7 We must be born again.

1 Corinthians 2:14 We can't understand spiritual things without God's help.

John 1:4 Jesus is the Source of life, the Creator of everything!

Acts 4:12 Salvation can come only through Jesus.

Romans 7:12 The law: holy, just, and good.

Romans 7:16 Only the born again can truly obey God from the heart.

Romans 7:24 Jesus is our only Savior.

John 1:29 Jesus takes away our sins.

John 1:51 Jesus bridges the gulf; He is the ladder between earth and heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus is the only way!

Search your own heart as you ask yourself these questions:

  1. Have I come to the point of admitting that I need God in a very personal sense?
  2. Am I willing to admit that I have been in bondage to sin, serving the enemy, Satan?
  3. Do I understand that I cannot change my inner motives without help from Jesus?
  4. Have I grasped the enormity of the consequences of the choice I must make as to whether to chose God or not?
  5. Do I appreciate the amazing gift God has given to me in Jesus?
  6. Am I willing to receive the new nature God is offering to me, and experience the new birth?
  7. Do I realize that Jesus is longing to receive me, and to become my best friend?
  8. Do I long to feel close to God, and appreciate Him, and be with Him forever?
