27. Thirteen Secrets for Spiritual Success

We are nearing the end of our 30 Days to Connect with Jesus. Our regular message format is concluded, and now for the remainder of our time together, we will summarize what we have learned thus far. Below you will find a sentence on each of the topics we have covered, and a supporting scripture. As you review each topic, ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart to see if you have personalized each message, and incorporated it into your daily spiritual experience. God is so willing to help you, and guide you in your walk with Him!

King James Version

1.          Know that God created you and loves you very much.

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

2.            Recognize your lost condition, your helplessness to save yourself, and your need for a Savior.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

3.          Ask God for a repentant heart and a willingness to turn from your sins.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

4.            Acknowledge your specific sins to God and make things right with others.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Psalm 51:3

5.          Invite Jesus to take control of your life and your will, without reservation.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Psalm 119:34

6.            Believe that God has accepted and forgiven you and place your trust in Him.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37

7.          Accept the new heart God gives you and allow Him to transform your life.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26

8.          Grow spiritually by choosing Jesus every morning and staying connected to Him throughout the day.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

9.         Let God's love fill your heart and give your life in service for Him.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:10,11.

 

10.        Listen to God's voice as He speaks through His Word, nature, and providence.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

11.        Take everything to God in prayer and accept the power and wisdom God will give you.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6

12.        Learn to trust God's Word and claim His promises for victory and to meet all your needs.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

13.            Rejoice and be grateful for all God has done for you as you meditate upon His goodness.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." Isaiah 30:21.

11.        Take everything to God in prayer and accept the power and wisdom God will give you.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6.

12.        Learn to trust God's Word and claim His promises for victory and to meet all your needs.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13.

13.            Rejoice and be grateful for all God has done for you as you meditate upon His goodness.
